Quick Post: Ads

Dear one and all!

I am a poor decrepit soul, and I needs the monies. In the endeavour to get the monies I have enabled ads on this site. I would be very appreciative if you gave them your full attention and, if relevant to you, please click!

Unfortunately there is a problem that Google seems to focus on your location when determining what language the ads should be in. This sort of issue regarding language being driven by location is a frustration within Google in general, but with regards to ads it is a critical problem. I am investigating the issue with Google to see if there is a solution. But please, if you have any experience - and hopefully - a solution to the problem then please get in touch.

Persistence

Hmm... Well yes indeed.

I don't know about this blogging lark. The objectives that were set down in the past to motivate me into doing it are still there - namely, the creation of opinions, the improvement of my writing style and a method of catharsis - but in the end it just didn't work. My opinions didn't really matter, my writing and command of the English language didn't really develop and my psychology spiralled to the point where I am now.

That said, my fingers have pressed these keys and the mouse strayed to the 'Blogger' link on my bookmarks bar. And THIS blog post is largely to blame.

"Persistence." The context of a struggling writer within the blog post isn't exactly important. It is the description of the struggle that is. The persistence to work through the blocks that our minds and the world at large create. To persist despite a world that fails to recognise you and a mind that is failing you. Finally that to give up is not necessarily the end and holds no relevance to what you can do in the future.

I have two projects I am working on at the moment that are linked.

1) Hiking the E8 from Dursey Head  on the south west coast of Ireland to Dublin.
And.
2) Writing some sort of book - either a simple guide, or something more thought provoking - of the above walk.

I suspect that I will get around to blogging about them both in the near future. :)

Yes indeed, this is a new and brand spanking (to coin an overused phrase) blog. I hope you like it.

As always, I have a plan. And the plan for this blog comes from a realization that I am 100% failing on the employability front. Not only have I not got any of the experience needed to get into any field of work I actually wish to commit my life to, but my last blog - Special/Blown it - even though it has a good body of work within it fails to be something that can be used to enhance a CV or show to a prospective employer.

For those who may be reading this from such a position, please take most of what is written there with a pinch of salt; it is largely uncensored rantings and I only include the comment here in the aim to show that I have some experience within the blogging world, even if that is marginal.

Anyway, to be clear. This blog has two aims.

1. To create a body of work based upon comment and rantings which can be something I can be proud of and use in the promotion of me to any future job hunting activities.
2. Continue to develop my grasp of the English language. To push myself and my ability to create entertaining, informative prose.

I doubt that this will be of interest to anyone but me, and the sorry soul who takes an interest in me and my activities. That being said, I wish to encourage comment and responses to any of the inane ramblings which may be found within this blog.

Wonderful. Now all thats sorted time to get some more tea.
